Sassie's Little Rant

An existential anarchist, as an idealist. But living in the real world, I am someone who enjoys enabling those less able to reach their potential. I like to experience life and trying new things and travelling to different places.

Tis been a long time!

I haven’t checked this place out for a while, and I think I even missed it a little.  Summer has been so hectic. I was supposed to have been relaxing as I had worked so hard to get my grades and before that spent seven years trying to help those deemed Mad by society.  As it turned out, all of my siblings decided to re-tie knots!  Luckily enough for me, I did so many special things for them I didn’t have to purchase any presents!  Mind you, the trip to Mauritius wasn’t cheap!

This year will be a record for me, and I would have managed to complete the film title - four weddings and a funeral.  Luckily for me the death was not a close one - rather a work colleague of my husbands.  So there weren’t too many tears shed (actually none were!) Next came the weddings, so far two have been attended.  One in the far off paradise island of Mauritius - wot a beautiful place.  Although, as is usual, the reality of life on paradise island wasn’t too far away and poverty could be clearly seen.  Its so sad that all that money going into those countries just doesn’t make it to the person in the street.  Well I suppose this is what we call a civilised society - you know the one where I’m OK jack and everyone else can bugger off.

The next wedding I wasn’t really looking forward too.  I’m glad she’s happy, but I really can’t understand why someone needs to do the state thing if they aint having kids!  Now if it had been a religious do, I could see the need to vow to something more powerful than you that you will love and share etc., etc, if you truely believe, it helps to make a marriage work cos you keep thinking, oh blimey I have to really give this a go, otherwise, Her upstairs is going to get a little annoyed that I can’t keep a promise.  Well, I find it helps, certainly through the difficult times.  Anyhow, it turned out to be a very good do, and the bride & groom were over the moon.  Never really hear from her anymore, she has a new family now and doesn’t appear too bothered about keeping in touch with her blood relatives.  Probably too busy getting involved with their petty dramas, as she does like a drama or two.

The next two weddings I’m really looking forward to.  Ones a good down to earth with a twist shingdig and the other looks like its going to be a posh do, not sure if they’re doing the church as I’ve not had the invite yet, but the hen night is an afternoon at the Hilton for tea so that gives an idea of what to expect.

I’m back at the books now.  Its the hard part as I’m working towards my degree but I’m hoping to get through it somehow.  Would like a high pass mark, but will be content with just passing.

Think I’ll add on a few pictures now, so ciao for now!
